"Magic By the Sea"

Magic by the Sea returned to the stage of Chatham Senior High School for its twelfth year of magic, comedy and illusion, Thursdays July  thru August, 2001 

There was a general admission and all seats were $10.00. 

Due to the great success of past presentations, Magic by the Sea  once again featured the magic illusion of great magicians of the past, from the legendary Houdini to some of the greatest magicians of the twenty-first century. 

Appropriate costumes, slide projections, music and special effects were used to bring the magic of these celebrated magicians to life. Portraying the art of these illustrious performers was Marcus the Magician and The Amazing Richard.

This last year’s show  featured an original Houdini escape, the most dangerous feat ever performed in Magic by the Sea; an escape from a sealed steel chamber. This was the first public performance on Cape Cod of a feat, similar to that which Houdini called, "the best escape that I have ever invented". 

This effect was performed in memory of magician Stuart Smith, who first conceived of constructing and performing it on Cape Cod. The Smith family  graciously donated this chamber to Magic by the Sea.
